Save Shaza and her family

Hi, I’m Jayda from the Netherlands. I’m organizing this fundraising on behalf of Shaza. I am a friend of the family. We have contact on a daily basis. The family is very dear to my heart. Her two children, her sisters, and her parents are the most warm-hearted people I have ever met. Although they did not want to leave their country, they are now forced to find safety for their children and family.

This is a message from Shaza:

Hello everyone, my name is Shaza from the sorrowful Gaza Strip, from the devastated Gaza Strip. I am from the city of Khan Younis, a city of resilience, love, and life, a city of dreams and reality, which has now become a city of rubble and destruction, a city of memories, sadness, and grief!

This is what’s left of our home

I am Shaza, 28 years old, responsible for eight adults and two beautiful children. This is my story since October 7th. We were ordered to evacuate our beautiful home. Under heavy bombardment and phosphorus bombs, we barely escaped with our lives, taking nothing with us but our souls. We had no idea that it would be impossible to return to our home again! We didn't know that our home would become a pile of stones and ashes! We didn't know that our home would become just memories we recall and cry over! We didn't know that everything we owned would turn into rubble in the blink of an eye .

Since October 7th, we have been bodies without souls. Since October 7th, our present is painful, frightening, and sorrowful, and our future is unknown. I don't know; maybe I am the next martyr! Since October 7th, we have been living in a tent that neither shields our bodies from the harsh winter cold nor the heavy rains that seep through nor protects us from the summer heat. These are just pieces of fabric that provide no protection from anything!!

How can these fabrics protect us from the rockets indiscriminately fired by the occupier, from the stray bullets fired hysterically by the occupier, or from the tank shells that take lives, dreams, and lives with each shot? The only thing available in Gaza is death! Just death! Death is inevitable! Death either from the bombardment or from hunger, the result is the same, death.

Now, I have only one option, and it has been incredibly difficult for me to make this decision. I have thought deeply and decided to leave Gaza, with my family, to preserve their lives, ambitions, and dreams and to build a new future for them filled with peace and security, free from fear.

The family must pay Egyptian organizations to cross the border between Gaza and Egypt. They charge $5000 for adults and $2500 for children. the money will be used to pay the evacuation of the 10 family members
