My name is Meghan, and my brother Shane is going through one of the darkest moments of his life. He’s currently in jail facing criminal charges, and even though I won't get into details of this ongoing case and investigation, I can tell you that this comes at the end of an already heartbreaking year. This spring, we lost our father, who was an incredible man. He and Shane were extremely close. My dad taught Shane the HVAC and refrigeration trade that became his life’s work.

The workshop Shane has to leave now wasn’t just his business. It was their space — working together, side by side, for years. When I walk into that shop now, I don’t just see equipment. I see my dad’s handwriting on tool drawers. I see his truck parked where it always was. I see Shane’s entire future being boxed up before it disappears.

Shane can’t be here to protect any of it. And if I can’t save these things, he will lose not only his livelihood, but some of the last physical pieces of our father. I find that outcome unacceptable.

I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t shoulder this alone. This is more than moving a shop — it’s preserving a life he worked so hard for, and the legacy of the man we loved most. I want Shane to come home to hope, not to emptiness.

And while I'm trying to focus on the shop and Shane's future, the present cannot be ignored. So I'm also ensuring Shane has access to visits, phone time, and commissary to meet his basic needs while in custody.

If you know Shane, you know his heart. You know he is the kind of person who drops everything to help someone else. You know how hard he worked, how deeply he cared, and how much he gave. He deserves the chance to rebuild when this is over.
