Dear friends and animal lovers,
We are reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help in saving our beloved Shadow. Shadow is a 2.5 year old german shepherd with a heart of gold and a personality to match. Shadow has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive infection called pythium, a fungal-like disease that has rapidly taken hold of her leg. Despite our best efforts to fight this devastating illness, the infection has become life-threatening, and the only chance for survival is a life-saving amputation.
Pythium is a serious, waterborne organism that attacks tissues, often leading to severe limb damage, pain, and infection that is incredibly difficult to treat. Shadow's leg has been severely affected, and after multiple treatments and consultations with specialists, we've been advised that amputation is the only way to stop the infection from spreading further. In addition to the amputation, Shadow will require intensive post-surgery care, including medications, rehabilitation, and frequent follow-up visits to ensure recovery and prevent complications.
The cost of the amputation, ongoing medical treatments, and rehabilitation is beyond what we can afford on our own. We are humbly asking for your help in raising the funds needed to cover these life-saving expenses. Every donation, no matter how small, will make an enormous difference in giving Shadow a chance to live pain-free and continue to be the loving companion we cherish.
