Save a severe anemia cat's life

About one year ago, I met a cute face in the SPCA of San Francisco, CA. She was so adorable with her baby eyes looking for love and a sweet home. When I saw her I knew she was the one! I decided to take this two-month-old home.

By the moment I felt like I was the luckiest person in the world. So she is named 'Lucky'. I enjoy spending every day with her, watching her grow up. I’m so proud of having this lovely cat. She is a friend, she is my baby and she is my sunshine.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed that she is losing her appetite and also losing weight, she was not willing to eat and had very little energy. This is what she looked like when I suspected that she was ill.

She was lying on the floor one afternoon, too weak to move, and peed on the floor just like that, that is when I decided to take her to the Vet ER room immediately.

Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with non-regenerative severe anemia right after her first birthday. When I took her to the ER, she was under life-threatening condition with only 4% PCV (packed cell volume). The normal number of PVC should be around 29%.  She stayed at the Oxygen ICU cage and had a blood transfusion in order to save her life.

We started to get all the essential tests done to find out the cause. Meanwhile, from the ultrasound test, we found she has a foreign object in her stomach and might need surgery to remove it if she can't stool it out. Now we are going through another 2-3 times of blood tests, examinations, and possible bone marrow tests in the coming few weeks.

I am so worried about losing her. But the medical bill, which can easily go up to $10K  (ER service, blood transfusion, tests, overnight hospital fees) is way too expensive for me to pay, and insurance won't take existing conditions for now. I am willing to work hard, give all that I have and spend my time and effort to help her recover, But I can only afford a part of the bills. So I really need your help to save this little sweetheart!

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you in advance, and I will keep everyone posted for her situation. Please follow her Instagram account (luckythekitten0619).  I really appreciate every little bit of help from you to help Lucky get recovery and become healthy again!

Love from Lucky's parent.
