One of Ocean City's best, the man who has brought the rhythm to so many local bands, who has strummed for hours on end entertaining folks at every pool bar, dance hall, and dive in town is in need of some help.

I'm talking about the one, the only, Scott Glorioso, drummer extraordinaire and all around gentleman of class and grace.

I've played in bands with Scott, been on the bill with Scott, got down in the trenches with Scott and mayhap been rescued by Scott a time or two, but this time he needs the rescuing, so here we, the community, are.

Scott needs surgery immediately to correct a severe case of cataracts. He has lost vision completely in his left eye and his right eye is down to about 30%. It's made working and paying the rent an insurmountable challenge.

Like most musicians around here, Scotty does not have insurance and the eye surgeon doesn't do financing. So he's on the hook for more than $8,000 that he needs to pay up by the ides of March. That's when they slayed Caesar, but I'm not letting my homie's peepers go dark. Not without a fight, Brute.

In addition to this GoFundMe, we'll be hosting a benefit concert Sunday, March 1 at Pickles Pub in OC at 3pm. So please come out to that as well and be the generous, loving, beautiful people you are.

But this is where the rubber hits the road, people. Please be generous. Scotty has been lugging his hardware bag up and down the steps of every venue in town for the past 30 years so folks can shake their booties and forget about whatever needs forgetting about for a few hours.

He's an upstanding citizen, a master musician, and a dear friend who needs to get his peepers peeping again. Your kindness is very appreciated.
