Santa on a Stretcher – Firefighter Trainees Charity Challenge!

We are a group of 12 trainee firefighters from Nottinghamshire, nearing the end of our training course and gearing up for one final challenge before we qualify — and it’s all for a brilliant cause.

In early December, we’ll be carrying a full-size rescue dummy dressed as Santa Claus on a stretcher through Nottingham city centre, raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, an organisation that supports firefighters and their families when they need it most.

Our route will take us from West Bridgford Fire Station to London Road Fire Station and back again. It’s a physically demanding challenge (even Santa gets heavy after a few miles!), but it’s nothing compared to the incredible work The Fire Fighters Charity does year-round.

This is our way of giving back as we step into our careers — supporting a charity that supports all of us, from operational firefighters to control staff, retirees, and their loved ones.

Why we’re doing it:

To raise vital funds for an essential charity

To mark the end of our rigorous training with a meaningful challenge

To give Santa a lift he won’t forget!
