The success of Raízes do Brasil Capoeira depends on the generosity of individuals, companies, and organizations. Your donation will help us to continue to offer cultural programs and events here in Santa Cruz, as well as support our scholarship program for those students with financial need.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have struggled to keep our studio of 20 years open. Even though we could not use the facility, we were able to rent it out from time to time to make the rent. This GoFundMe is set up for us to only pay the monthly rent for next few months until we can actually start using the facility again and generate our own funds.
With your support, Santa Cruz will retain a place that has been the center for Brazilian culture and gatherings. Our members are very supportive, but our membership fees do not cover the space. Mestre Papiba truly loves teaching and does not make any profit from leasing the space. This is truly a space for the community. Please help keep this local venue open! AXÉ!
