Samantha is an amazing mother to her sons and a cherished friend and co-worker to many! Samantha was diagnosed with Ocular Cancer in 2013 and underwent aggressive Proton Therapy Radiation to treat it. Throughout this process she remained positive and strong, despite the difficulties of raising her young sons and undergoing treatment.
In 2016, she began having complications and losing sight in her eye as result of the treatment, which kills all optic nerves. She lost all sight in 2018 and began having more serious complications due to the eye being severely damaged from radiation.
These past months, Samantha has had extreme pain and pressure in her eye as it begins to deteriorate; causing fluid build up and internal bleeding. She has been seeing doctors and going to emergency rooms multiple times a week at costs totaling over $3000 out of her pocket to have fluid drained from her eye and a shot to the eye administered to try to relieve the pain and pressure.
The surgery she needs is the first step to try to save her eye and relieve the intense pain she is having. Unfortunately her insurance does not cover the cost to see her doctor, who specializes in this treatment. They sent her to another doctor who was unable to help her. She needs this surgery immediately!
Throughout this process, she has stayed strong and positive both at work and at home! Help this beautiful woman with a beautiful heart get the care she needs. We are all better for having Sam in our lives.
