Save Samantha: Patty's Loyal Companion

Hi, I am Patty McGee. Help me save my dog, Samantha. Samantha has been a lifesaver while I battle heart failure. I had to go to the hospital for a week, and when I came home, she would not leave me. She has a growth in the back of her mouth. I adopted Samantha from Saving Grace Rescue. I fostered her at first and found out she and her 4 siblings were attacked by a lab. Instead of taking them to the vet, the owner took them to the pound and asked them to put them all to sleep. Luckily, Saving Grace rescued her and her siblings. I fostered her and had to take her back because they make you wait to adopt, but I kept thinking about her. I decided 3 weeks later that I would adopt her if she was still there. When I got there, I yelled her name, and Samantha came running to me. I found out I was the 11th person to adopt her, but the others brought her back. She was tough at first because she had heartworms and then pneumonia. She was scared of people and dogs. She would try to bite and growl, but now I can walk her, and she lets people pet her. In October, she had a urinary tract infection. I need $2,500 for a deposit at NCSU Veterinary Hospital for surgery and treatment. I need help because the cost of my medicines is really high. Because of heart failure, I can only work part-time. Also, my cat, Bert, would miss his buddy. Bert often sleeps near Samantha, and when I walk Samantha, Bert comes too.
