Hi, my name is Kenedi, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my best friend and emotional support dog, Sadie.
Sadie is a 5-year-old rescue pup who came into my life when I needed her most. I adopted her during my first month of college, at a time when my anxiety was overwhelming and daily life was very stressful. She was just 4 years old then—nervous, quiet, and in need of love. We instantly bonded. From that moment on, she became my safe place. My peace. My family.
Now, Sadie is in pain, and I feel so helpless watching her suffer.
A few days ago, she swallowed part of a toy and began throwing up bile and was unable to keep any food down. After several vet visits, Sadie has undergone extensive tests—blood work, a urinalysis, x-rays, and an ultrasound. It’s been confirmed that she needs emergency surgery to remove the obstruction in her stomach. Without it, she won’t be able to recover.
The emotional toll has been devastating, but the financial burden has also been extremely overwhelming. The medical bills have already added up quickly, and with surgery coming up, I’m looking at several thousand dollars in total. I am doing everything I can, but I simply cannot afford all of it on my own.
I’m a full-time special education teacher at our local elementary school, and I start back next week as summer break ends. I’ve dedicated my life to helping others, and now I’m humbly asking for help in return—not for me, but for Sadie.
Sadie has stood by me during some of my darkest moments. She’s comforted me through panic attacks, sleepless nights, and so much more. She’s more than just a dog—she’s my heart. I can’t imagine life without her.
If you’re an animal lover, or if you’ve ever had a pet save your life in some small way, please consider donating to help save Sadie.
Every dollar helps. Every share helps. Every prayer helps.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for keeping Sadie in your thoughts.
With gratitude,
Kenedi & Sadie ❤️
