Hello lovely people,

My name is Leslie, I have two cats that I love dearly: Ash (a sweet weird asthmatic boy who loves leaves and attacking guests shoes, otherwise known as Friend, or Toad) and Rusty (a very anxious boy with a dual personality, super cuddly, playful and loving, but who switches to being a biting menace with no notice given, also called Croosty, or Lil Weasel which fits him well).

My boy Rusty had a urinary obstruction, a life-threatening issue, a year or two ago. About 3 months ago, it happened again and I took him to the emergency room. They cathetered him and watched him for about 2 days, fixed his blockage, took the catheter out, and then he reobstructed immediately and got cathetered again for another day. This cost me about $7000.. but it got my boy back home, and he was good for a few days.

Over the last few months we've monitored his peeing, which has not been looking great, but just okay.. but we've put him on anti-depressants to help his bladder inflammation, done check ups, switched his foods, gave him pain meds, and an IV and done what made sense to help him not block again, besides going to the worst case which is a surgery in which they shorten his urethra/cut off his penis so that he doesn't block again.

Well.. He has blocked again. He is back in the hospital now, being cathetered, and we are proceeding with the surgery tomorrow. This will cost between $7500-9000.

Originally I set up this Gofundme because I was not able to afford doing this and he would have needed to be put down. With the funds I received so far, though absolutely immensely appreciated, it did not free up enough space to make that happen. Thankfully I have a wonderful partner who has allowed me to use their own vet credit card, plus more, to have this done.

We just moved into a new house a month ago, so we are very worried about staying afloat while paying these huge vet bills off, and also continuing his care with medications and checkups.

I am still hoping for $10000, or any amount of money we can get up to, to pay off our cards and continue his care.
