Hello lovely people,

My name is Leslie, I have two cats that I love dearly: Ash (a sweet weird asthmatic boy who loves munching on leaves and attacking guests shoes, otherwise known as Friend, or Toad) and Rusty (a very anxiously attached boy with a huge dual personality, either super cuddly and licking my face, or crazy and wanting to play or biting out of anxiety, also called Croosty, or my Lil Weasel).

My boy Rusty had a urinary obstruction, a life-threatening issue, a year or two ago. Two weeks ago, it happened again and I took him to the emergency room. They cathetered him and watched him for about 2 days, fixed his blockage, took the catheter out, and then he reobstructed immediately and got cathetered again for another day. This cost me about $7000.. but it got my boy back home, and he's been doing well and cuddling me and playing again.. until he showed worrisome signs yesterday.

It seems as though he may be partially blocked again, but for now, my primary vet and I will be putting him back on pain meds for another week to relax him to see if that helps, and I'm monitoring him closely. He is definitely under great care by myself and both of the vets I take him to. He's on special food, drinking lots of water, and he will soon also start antidepressants for his anxiety as well, which can exasperate this bladder issue.

I am asking for help because if he blocks again, I have literally no more money to save him. My two vet credit cards are full from his last visit. This will mean that in an emergency, my only option is to put him down. I do not want to think about it, and I obviously do not want to do that. I am hoping that I can get help in raising money quickly so that I can pay off my two credit cards in order to have space to pay for another emergency. I am worried it will be too late to recieve this money, but I have to try.

If he does indeed block again, now, or possibly in the future, with his history they will also recommend a procedure to shorten his urethra which involves cutting off the outer part of his penis, and this will make him less likely in the future to reobstruct.

I am hoping for $4000 which covers a single blockage to be fixed, plus the possible cost for his procedure to shorten his urethra which could be another $6000 or even more. $10000 to save my boy on his worst day. If my boy doesn't obstruct, or if I can't carry him through this, I will cut off at $7000 to pay off my cards.

Please help me and my weasel boy. He's very attached to me, follows me everywhere, lays on top of my chest anytime I'll let him, licks my face and hair every morning, and sometimes it annoys the hell out of me.. but I am just as attached to him as he is me, and I can't imagine being okay if I lose him so soon, and just because I can't afford his care.
