Help Rowan Fight for His Life
Hi, my name is Bethany. Four months ago, I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat Mogget after an aggressive cancer diagnosis. Losing him broke my heart; he had been with me through so much, and I wasn’t ready to let him go.
Not long after, I met Rowan. He was just two years old and had been struggling in the busy rescue environment, where the stress sometimes made him lash out and he was labeled “aggressive.” But when I met him, he curled up beside me like he had always belonged. He turned out to be one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever known. I’m grateful the rescue gave him a chance, because otherwise I never would have met him. I thought maybe it was meant to be, that he came into my life to help heal some of the hurt of losing Mogget.
Now Rowan is suddenly very sick. This week he developed a dangerously high fever, stopped eating, and was rushed into emergency hospitalization. He now has a severe heart murmur (that wasn’t there just days ago), swollen lymph nodes, and extremely high white blood cell counts. The possible causes include infection, cancer, or FIP. He’s on IV fluids, antibiotics, and under 24/7 care while we wait for more tests.
The emergency hospitalization alone is estimated at $2,800–$4,900, and that’s not including ongoing treatment. After Mogget’s cancer bills, car repairs, and other emergencies this year, I am financially tapped out.
I don’t want Rowan to lose his chance just because I can’t afford it. He’s only two, and he deserves more life and love.
If you can help, through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, it will mean the world to both of us.
Thank you for caring,
Bethany & Rowan
