When I returned home from serving as an infantry Marine in Iraq and Afghanistan I was a shell of myself. I struggled with suicidal ideation and just getting out of bed or feeding myself. I rescued Rosie in 2012 during my first semester of college. She allowed me to reintegrate into society and learn resiliency. With her by my side I got straight A’s, joined the wrestling team, starred in the school play, and found joy again. Her support allowed me to be accepted in Yale Divinity School where I received my Masters of Divinity and began a ministry of caring for others. The life I have now is because of her service to me. I don’t know what I ever did to deserve her love but it helped me find the love of my life and start a family with my wife Gretchen. I would still be a shell without Rosie.

Rosie has a grade 3 soft tissue sarcoma on her carpus (wrist). We might be able to save her leg with surgery and chemo/radiation, or amputation if the surgery is not an option. These life saving options come at a high cost—Amputation or surgery runs $4-6k, radiation another $6K, and chemo another $5K.

She has done so much for me, I have to be able to try for her. I’m heartbroken that she is in pain. She’s cared for me for so long and it’s time for me to care for her.

We know that it’s an extremely tough time for everybody right now (humans and pets alike), but if you have an extra few dollars to spare, they will go a long way in saving Rosie’s life. We’ll post updates about her care,and stay transparent about all vet bills. Gretchen and I thank you from the bottom of our heart.
