SAVE ROSEWELL MINERS WELFARE SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB

Dear Community,

We come to you with a plea that tugs at the heart of our village, the iconic Rosewell Miners Welfare Sports and Social Club at the heart of our community, is on the brink of closure. The laughter, banter, conversations, and cherished memories created within its walls are now at risk of being lost forever. The club has been a haven for our community. It would also be a massive loss to the bowling team, darts team, pool team, bingo players, regulars and staff alike.

However, unforeseen challenges have pushed our beloved club to the edge. A sharp decline in footfall and spend, coupled with overwhelming expenses, has transformed it from a thriving business to the precipice of being dismantled, piece by piece, to settle debts. Imagine our village without a single pub. We are the only pub showing sports on TV from big matches to boxing, horse racing and we hold a regular monthly disco.

We are desperate not to let this happen, but we cannot do it without your support. We are facing an immediate shortfall of £5000 and time is of the essence. If we don't act swiftly, our club may be lost forever.

We understand the financial strain we all face, but we are reaching out to you, our tight-knit community, in the hope that together we can preserve this vital part of our heritage. We are already planning some exciting events, including a February fundraiser and some ladies' nights to raise a portion of the funds and increase footfall. Your participation in these events would be invaluable, as would suggestions for fundraising but we need more.

We are humbly asking for your financial support to bridge the gap and secure the future of club. Every pound you donate will be a step towards preserving the heart of our community. By contributing, you are investing in more than just a pub, you are investing in the spirit of our village.

You can also support the club by purchasing a yearly membership at the cost of £20, this can be done by visiting us in person - where a member of staff/the committee can provide further details of what our membership entails.
