Roseland Parc Care Home is set within the Retirement Villages complex in Tregony, Cornwall.
This 36 bed care home provides nursing care for elderly people with dementia, people in their twilight years with the security of knowing that they won't have to move again, and will be close to friends and family.
It is a loving and caring community set in beautiful gardens.
However, this month the owners of Retirement Villages announced that they are closing the care home to make way for more profitable retirement apartments, casting out these very elderly and vulnerable residents, many of whom will not survive the upheaval and will end up many miles from relatives.
Help us to raise funds to fight against this disgraceful action.
The Village was built on the understanding that the care home would exist to provide follow-on care for people in the village. Care Home provision in Cornwall is already very low and it is not possible to find 36 suitable beds within the county.
The Village is ultimately owned by Axa SA based in Paris and the holding company has declared - via Companies House - that the strategy is to repeat this across the UK.
We must stop this heartless pursuit of profit above consideration for our ageing population. Help us to fight against their legal case for a certificate of lawfulness to vary the property use.
