Save Rosa’s life from Covid in Mexico
Donation protected
Rosa Toledo is a woman who is dear to my heart. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Though her family and herself reside 60 miles south of Chicago she has spent more time in Mexico over the last year helping care for her father-in-law who is 82 and is slowing dying from Alzheimer's complications. She is a selfless woman and always puts herself last and her family first.
Rosa has now contacted covid-19 while helping in Mexico. During the first 10 days of the disease she was stable, but has now had a drastic decline. Because of the state of healthcare in Mexico, and lack of resources there, Rosa was taken to a private pay hospital in order to save her life. This was an unfortunate only option due to her critical state even though she has healthcare insurance in the United States.
Her out of pocket hospital expenses range from $3,500 to $4,000 U.S. dollars daily as she in intubated, on a ventilator, and receiving medications to both stabilize her blood pressure and fight covid-19.
The physicians in Mexico have given us hope, but the financial burden persists. Today, 2/10/21, is her 7th day on the ventilator. Here medical expenses continue and in Mexico there is no buy now and pay later, payment is demanded every day to continue service. We are praying that through God's will she will be extubated soon.
What is asked for is financial aide. Anything helps. We do not want to get to a point were Rosa's health is held hostage. Thank you for your time in reading Rosa's story and may blessings be upon you.
"Heal me, O lord and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." - Jeremiah 17:14
