Save Rooster's Nest (The Scott Hammond Fund)

Donation protected
On February 16, 2022 Scott Hammond (Rooster) went in to surgery to clear one of his two, over 90% blocked, carotid arteries. About an hour into recovery he suddenly could not move his right arm. He was rushed back into surgery where it was discovered that the same artery was now completely blocked. They cleared the artery again, but not before Rooster had sustained a massive stroke. As a result, he now has significant damage to his right side control and his speech.

While in the hospital, Rooster has made significant progress, but still has quite a long road to complete recovery. He was admitted to one of the best rehab facilities in the country, the Shepherd Center, on February 24, 2022. They expect his visit to be at least 4-6 weeks, possibly even longer. Even though his insurance is responsible for a large portion of his medical bills, he is still accruing significant out-of-pocket expenses daily.

This fund is an effort to try to offset some of these expenses, and relieve the family of some of these financial burdens.
