Our sweet dog, Roma, is in need of life-saving emergency care and we need your help. A few days ago, she suddenly got sick. She started vomiting, seemed to be in a lot of pain, and we knew something wrong. We rushed her to the emergency vet on 7/31 and she’s been hospitalized ever since. Right now, she requires medical care around-the-clock.

So far, the tests have shown signs of liver damage, but we don’t know why. Her liver enzyme levels have doubled in the first 24 hours. The veterinary team is doing everything they can to support her liver but, without a diagnosis, treatment is a guessing game. She needs to remain hospitalized until it's clear that the current treatment is working or a diagnosis is made so a more tailored treatment can begin.

We’ve already spent thousands on emergency care, testing, and imaging. We’re doing everything we can for her, but at this point the total is likely to be closer to $10,000.

Roma means the world to us. She’s gentle, goofy, and full of love. Even now, through all of this, the care staff report that her tail wags every time somebody approaches her.
