Save Rohan’s Sight
Donation protected
On Feb 6th of this year Rohan had surgery to save the little sight he had. Due to complications his sight has not returned.
His Dr says the operation was a success as the pressures (glaucoma related) in his eyes have stabilised but there is no explanation at all to why his vision has worsened or why it hasn’t returned back to what it was prior to surgery.
In the last 2 months his sight has deteriorated more as the cornea is now foggy, in spite of some saline drops working originally they now are no longer working or improving his vision. We were advised 2 weeks ago that a cornea transplant is possible and have booked in for surgery hoping that taking this chance might improve his vision and quality of life.
My husband has not complained a single day since this has happened and he has stopped work and is now a massive help around the home for me. It’s hard seeing someone you love go through such a massive change but not once has he complained and we remind each other every day how incredibly lucky we are to have him home and spending time with his girls.
We are now expecting our 4th child in April and any money we do have to come up with comes out of his TPD which is meant to last him the rest of his life. So here we are asking for help!
The Dr has given us “guarantee” in this working for him but it’s a chance we have to take “just in case” it improves his vision or at least having the dead cells he has on his cornea removed and replaced with healthy cells and at least the fog in his eye leaving.
We know how incredibly blessed we are already but need a little help in reaching this small goal to improve my husbands life!
Roh I’m so incredibly lucky to have you beside me doing life with one another but your courage since this has happened has blown me away and I’m proud to call you my husband!
For anyone interested this is what’s involved in a cornea transplant:

This is the syndrome he was born with which developed into glaucoma:

The original operation he had in Feb was a Molteno valve and Sclera transplantation
We thank you for reading and for your kind donation!
