My name is Rocky. I was adopted from the shelter when I was not quite a year old. I’ve lived with my mom Jani for ten terrific years and look forward to another ten.

When she worked at a publishing office, I went to work with her every day. On our daily walks, we explored a wide range of neighborhoods. We also traveled by car and air, interstate, and even internationally. I’ve met and had my picture taken with celebrities, including Brent Spiner, Robert Fuller, Kevin Sorbo, Stella Stevens, James Drury, Felix Silla, and Clint Walker.
Recently, my right back leg/knee (ACL) had been causing me pain. I could barely hobble, and could not climb any of the stairs in our house nor outside. My mom had to carry me everywhere.
I had an urgent need for corrective surgery on my leg, otherwise I could have further damaged the ligament, resulting in possible amputation.
As of this writing, I’ve recently had the surgery and now I’m in recovery mode. I have to take medications, be carried everywhere, and restrained from trying to use that leg. I wear a “satellite dish” which prevents me from licking the surgical site and sutures. It’s all very uncomfortable!

My mom set up makeshift “beds” on the den floor--one for me and one for her beside me. She worries about me and is devoted to helping me heal and resume walking. Since she is retired and living on social security, this has been a strain on her physically and financially.
So, I'm reaching out to my mom's friends for some assistance to pay for my surgery, which is beyond her ability to cover. My medical costs have totaled $6,500.00 for vet visits, anesthesia, x-rays, the surgery, post-surgical x-rays and treatments plus medications. Dog medical bills are nearly as expensive as human medical bills!
Dear friends, if you can donate anything to my go-fund-me for our veterinarian bills, even $10 or $20 -- with your help, I will recover and my mom will recover from the burden. My mom needs to pay the doctors in 2018, so we need your help.
In return, I offer my love and smiles, with updates on my recovery and life.
