Bond of Two Survivors

My name is Tommy Hoang. For the past several years, I have been in the fight of my life against Stage 4 Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma—a rare and aggressive cancer. This battle has cost me my left eye and much of my physical strength, but it has never cost me my spirit. A huge reason for that resilience is sitting right next to me: my cat, Rocket.

Rocket isn’t just a pet; he is my emotional support animal, my fearless adventure cat, and my constant companion through every surgery, every recovery, and now, my current rounds of chemotherapy. Whether he is boldly exploring the trails by my side or comforting me when I am at my lowest, Rocket is always there. Now, he is the one in a fight, and I am doing everything in my power to be there for him.

The Urgent Crisis

While I am used to fighting for my own health, I am now facing a crisis I cannot manage alone. Rocket has suffered a severe tongue laceration that requires urgent surgical repair. Because the tongue is so vascular and sensitive, this isn’t a simple fix—it requires specialized surgery, general anesthesia, and extensive post-operative care to ensure he can eat and drink again without pain.

The Financial Hurdle

As many of you know, navigating Stage 4 cancer and ongoing chemotherapy is a full-time battle that has exhausted my resources. The estimated cost for Rocket’s prerequisite labs, specialized surgery, and recovery is $3,000, with the potential for that number to rise should complications arise during the procedure.
