In 2020, with the political revolution, the economic crises, the Covid 19 pandemic and most recently, the destructive explosion in Beirut, parents could no longer afford to provide music and arts education to their children.
We are Rock’n Bach; a music and arts school dedicated to teaching young and aspiring students in Lebanon. We believe in the great impact of music, dance and arts on each and every student in our school. We don’t want to end the dreams of thousands of future young and bright students and we don’t want to close our doors after 10 years of building a great community. We decided to organize a fundraising campaign in order for Rock’n Bach to rise up during these difficult and uncertain times and guarantee its survival. By raising funds, we will be able to maintain the survival of our school and ensure the continued education of many of our youth.
My name is Hisham El Shemaly. I am the founder of Rock'n Bach; school of music and arts. I have always dreamt of a better future for our children in our home country of Lebanon. I was always passionate about music and wanted to change the traditional concept of music schools in Lebanon. I wanted to transmit the contagious passion which one finds in music and arts to students through activities, camps and concerts. After 5 years of studying music in Ukraine, I started working towards this dream by returning to my home-country and founding a music school for the new generations of Lebanese. In 2010, I started my journey in a little apartment which then, over the last decade, blossomed into a full fledge music and arts school educating many thousands of young and aspirational students.
The school has achieved a lot throughout the years and we have many success stories. Our main aim is to serve the community, and that has been happening thanks to ROCK'N Donation, a yearly fund-raising concert where Rock'n Bach students and teachers perform together to raise funds for NGOs such as the Children Cancer Center, the Lebanese Red Cross, Canne Et Coeur, Al younbouh and many others.
Also, Rock'n Bach organized many international free concerts, workshops and Master classes for local and international artists in collaboration with cultural centers in Lebanon. For the past two years, Rock'n Bach has been offering a scholarship program, whereby people in financial need could apply for free music and art education.
Sadly, the last two years have been the hardest for the school. Rock'n Bach started facing financial problems due to the country's economic crisis, the political revolution, the COVID-19 pandemic, and recently the devastating blast in Beirut.
Your donations will go towards:
-The scholarship program
-The school grounds lease
-School grounds maintenance, e.g. cleaning, plumbing, etc.
-Fuel for generators during power outages (electricity is seldom provided by the government)
-Music instrument maintenance
-Educational supplies, e.g. music books, painting materials, etc.
-Employees
-School insurance
We are resilient and nothing will stop us from fulfilling our dream. We push forward despite adversity, no matter what, so we can keep serving the community, inspiring, and being inspired by our youth. We are sure that with your help we will rise up again stronger and our children will keep dreaming of a better future, where artistic education has its deserved place.
