This is Rico the kitten. When I found Rico, he had just been hit by a car and was laying in the middle of the street. His back legs didn’t work, and he couldn’t move. He wasn’t doing well.
I took him to an emergency animal clinic and claimed him as my own, as they cannot treat just any stray.
After a night in the emergency room, they figured out that his legs didn’t work due to shock as well as trauma to his lower body. He also showed signs of brain damage, and his digestive organs had been damaged. It’s a miracle he did not have any fractures.
His poor behind was basically destroyed, so it hurts him to use the potty, and he is incontinent, but he is healing.
His digestive system is still recovering as well, but he has to be on a specific vet-prescribed food.
Despite all of this, Rico is very loving and playful when he can be. He is a strong kitten who has been through a lot and is still so darling. He is fighting the good fight to heal and learn to walk again. We have a long way to go but he has come so far.
The unexpected expenses of an emergency room visit, constant vet visits, x-rays, medication, food, and various supplies have become overwhelming, but I couldn’t just let him suffer and die on the street. That wasn't an option.
I appreciate you even reading this far. If you feel so inclined to make a donation, just know that ANY donation helps and goes toward changing the life of a precious little animal that is so brave and loving. He has inspired me in many ways with his strength. He is my hero.
Please help save Rico the kitten.
If you can’t make a donation at this time, a simple share would greatly be appreciated by little Rico.
Thank you. Much love.
