Save Richie: Urgent Medical Help Needed
Donation protected
Emma and I adopted our first dog, Richie, 5 months ago. He seemed to be a happy and healthy dog. We noticed he always breathed a bit fast, but since the rescue and our vet gave him a clear bill of health as soon as we got him, we thought nothing of it.
In late October, Richie had consistent coughing fits in the middle of the night. We rushed him to the emergency vet and got him on antibiotics. Since that night, I kept a close eye on his breathing. I noticed he breathed about 45 times a minute. I took him to the vet where X-rays were taken, and we received some bad news.
Richie’s chest is full of fluid, aka Pleural Effusion, which restricts his lungs and could lead to oxygen deprivation or lung collapse.
This could be a variety of things, the main concerns being cancer or heart failure.
We are looking for help to recoup some medical costs for diagnosis and treatment.
Emma and I are going to fight to keep our new family together but unfortunately need some help.
