I had my sweet kitten Reginald since I was 16 years old. He was my emotional support animal. He has helped me through so much. I’ve struggled with panic attacks and anxiety my whole life, and he was my solid ground, he was my comfort and one of my biggest sources of happiness.
Sunday 13 September he got a urinary blockage which resulted in him having to be hospitalized for 48 hours. The vet bill came out to $9000. I was devastated. I was faced with the choice of letting him go or being $9000 in debt. I couldn’t even fathom the thought of losing him. How are we supposed to put a price on that sort of thing? So I made the decision to do the treatment. I’m now $9000 in debt.
UPDATE: I thought he was going to be fine but the day we brought him home, he re-blocked. We brought him back to the vet and they said it would be $5000 to unblock him an additional $5000 to do the PU surgery so he doesn’t block again. I could not afford it. Now I am $9000 in debt with no kitten to show for it. If you have anything to spare, even a dollar I would be so deeply grateful. I’m already working full-time to pay my regular bills. This is going to be a real struggle for me.
