Save Reggie's Heart
Donation protected

Our dear friend Reggie Alexander has worked at PS75 in New York, NY since 1997. Reggie has been a consistently positive and committed member of the PS75 community, and is an invaluable inspiration and model of strength. He is respected and loved by all the staff and students who have had the pleasure of working with him.
Reggie has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and is currently fighting for his life as he awaits a new heart. In January 2020, Reggie went for a routine follow up and found that his heart was functioning at 10% capacity. Additionally, there was a blood clot on his heart. With the aid of medicine and an ICD, Reggie began to improve and was feeling better until he caught COVID-19. After beating COVID-19 it was found that there was irreparable damage to his heart and he was placed on the donor list. Reggie is currently at Weill Cornell Medicine with a balloon pump and will not be able to leave the hospital until he gets a new heart.
Throughout this difficult journey, Reggie continued to show up to work with a smile on his face and put the needs of the PS75 community first. He is a warrior and needs our blessings. In this difficult and uncertain time, Reggie will be out of work indefinitely. He is 47 years young and has 3 children and a wife. While Reggie's character is always to help and never to receive, he and his family will inevitably face challenges as a result of the quick and unexpected loss of income, life costs and expenses related to post-transplant preparation and needs. We appreciate any and all support.
