Save Recess for Classical Conversations Cherokee

Homeschooling is growing by leaps and bounds all over the country and right here in Cherokee County! Our newly formed Cherokee Monday Classical Conversations group is just one example. We are comprised of (so far) 37 children/18 families who desire to make Jesus the center of our children’s education. We are so blessed to have found a church to call home for the 2021-22 school year where we can meet for our community assembly and classes. Because of the effect the pandemic has had on our local churches, this has been more difficult than in the past and it was never easy! So although the church has met our need for meeting space, we are setting out to add a playground to meet the need for the nursery kids and students to get their physical exercise/play too. Exercise and fresh air are just as important for the brain as our curriculum! Our community’s families will be contributing as much as we can to this project that our own children will enjoy, but we are opening this up to others as well who appreciate our mission to know God and make Him known through education. Not only will our children thank you, but the church who also benefits from this investment will thank you as well. (For safety reasons I am unable to name the church or location. The total budget for equipment and installation is $4,150.00. School starts on 9/13/21 and the playset company has an 8 week lead time so we are in a time crunch!
