We are the Jennett Family: John, Christy, Dakota, Steven, and Erica. John retired from the Army in 2012 after completing 3 combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2016, John and Christy began going every weekend to an event called “Market at the Mill.” They were selling homemade products and eventually started selling coffee under the tent. We would sell Black Rifle Coffee and Christy would make her own syrups. We quickly realized how many people loved our coffee and decided to became a Black Rifle Coffee authorized dealer. Soon after people started requesting us to be open during the week so we opened up a coffee shop in a small Amish built shed type building. Eventually we became to large for that building as well and moved inside of The Mill. In 2018, John had a heart attack and we were forced to close our doors. However, we really missed being able to make our products and putting smiles on peoples faces. In April of 2019, we opened Ravenwood Coffee and Creations on Wilma Rudolph Blvd with the help of our oldest son Steven. While deployed to Afghanistan he took out a massive loan so we could reopen the shop of our dreams. Christy, John, and Dakota manage and run the shop with seven baristas that we consider family. Erica, works another job, but still manages the social media and helps when she can. Steven and Erica have had to take out more loans to help keep our business open due to being a new business and COVID-19 impacting our small business. Recently we have been notified that the owner of the building we were leasing from has decided to sell the building. We understand this decision and do not blame her for any of this. We have until August 18th to vacate the building, so our business will be closed on August 14th. With the pandemic that is plaguing all of us, and too many loans out already, we are stuck. Our businesses credit history is too young to qualify for any further loans. This is why we need your help in keeping our business open. We would love to keep our baristas employed and open a new location rather than lose everything we had struggled to build. So with a heavy heart we are forced to ask for help. Our goal to be able to secure a new location and redesign it to fit our needs. Our hope is to raise 50,000 dollars which we understand is a lot of money. We are asking for help, any amount that you would consider donating could help keep our families business running. We thank you all in advance for helping us keep Ravenwood Coffee & Creations alive, our baristas employed, and for saving our families investment.
