In these dire times, I come to you with a heavy heart and an urgent plea. My brother, Rajnish Tiwari, is locked in a relentless battle, fighting for his life against a merciless and deadly brain fungal infection. He lies in a hospital bed, far from the loving embrace of his 1 and 1/2-year-old daughter.
Rajnish's condition is critical, and the situation is dire. He has been suffering from excruciating and life-taking headaches, persistent vomiting that seems to have no end, and debilitating weakness for the past 6 weeks (approximately 1.5 months). Today (7th Jan 23), he has developed painful and soul-crushing mouth ulcers, rendering him unable to speak or eat. It's a cruel and harrowing twist of fate, further adding to his agony.
His immune system is severely compromised, with a CDC4 count of just over 54 (CDC4 count should ideally be over 450 for a healthy individual). The fungal infection that plagues him necessitates expensive injections every day to keep it at bay. The catch-22 is that the injections are vital because his immune system is so weakened, but they further weaken his immune system, making him susceptible to the fungal infection.
The treatment has become a lengthy, terrifying, and painful ordeal, with each passing day holding the threat of a life slipping away. The relentless injections, the soul-crushing migraines that haunt him day and night, the constant suffering, and the overwhelming desperation are tearing our family apart.
He is under the care of Doctor Chandrasekhar Reddy at City Neuro Center in Hyderabad, India, where every day's fight is a desperate and heart-wrenching battle against time and death. The ongoing treatment is prolonging his stay in the hospital, and the medical bills continue to mount.
We find ourselves at rock bottom financially, with no job, no medical insurance, and no mediclaim to provide a safety net. Our savings, once carefully nurtured, have been exhausted in the desperate and seemingly futile pursuit of his recovery.
Rajnish's sacrifices for my education, including selling toys to support me through four years of engineering school, now weigh heavily on my conscience. I am his elder brother, and I am compelled to seek help.
We've reached a harrowing crossroads, where every day Rajnish fights is a day closer to the door of death. The ongoing treatment is prolonging his stay in the hospital, and the medical bills continue to mount, cumulatively increasing the burden on our shoulders.
His wife, who stands steadfastly by his side, is a silent witness to her husband's daily suffering and agony. She holds his hand as he battles the tormenting pain, knowing that every moment is a battle against time and money.
We are out of options and out of time. Your help could be the lifeline we so desperately need. Please, join us in this life-threatening battle to save a life, to reunite a father and his daughter, and to offer hope in our darkest and most desperate hour.
With a heavy heart,
Rupesh Tiwari
