Save Queen Bella! Emergency procedure needed

UPDATE: I’ve lowered the goal to reflect a more precise estimate. She’s being kept overnight currently. I’m praying that the treatment she gets at the hospital today and tomorrow will work.

UPDATE: 2:18 pm 7/5/2025 She has just come out of her ultrasound, with a confirmed urethral blockage. Emergency, life-saving surgery will likely be over $10,000 so my modest goal here has just changed by….. a lot.

My sweet 10 year old cat, Bella, was recently diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, heart murmur, and possible Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC). Her tests and treatments so far (exams, urinalysis, blood tests, prescription foods, grooming due to CKD coat problems) have cost about $2000. The last 48 hours of care (today an exam, another urinalysis, X-rays, tomorrow an ultrasound) cost an additional $1730. I can’t even afford tomorrow’s test, but her life depends on it, thus why I finally broke and made this. We learned from the x-ray that she might need emergency surgery for a urethral blockage, and we need that confirmed via ultrasound. No idea how much emergency surgery would even cost.

I’ve made a goal out of just a few of the expenses- not even close to all. $910 is currently the most critical amount.

$620- X-rays, urinalysis

$300- ProBNP bloodwork

$910- ultrasound

=$1730

I will gladly provide proof of costs if asked. If you would like to send money directly to my vet, that may be an option.

Bella was a healthy and happy cat before this, and may be again. Everything she is dealing with has treatment available, and her quality of life could be pretty close to normal once we have everything addressed and stable. I could write a book about how much she means to me, how much my entire life revolves around her. She is everything to me.

I am multiply disabled but not on disability yet. I am self employed. Bella’s care since April has consumed 1/3rd of what I typically make in an entire year. I have been working hard, often multiple festivals in a day, and it still isn’t enough. The recession has hit my business hard, and then my health tanked this winter- I was very ill for over a month, then I fractured my femur. Funds are critical for Bella’s care and for both of us to stay housed/alive.
