Save Quarter Lounge Arcade

For years I have wanted to recreate one of the great American pastimes in a family friendly way. I wanted to make it safe for everyone to come and experience what I grew up with in the 80s. In the early part of 1992, I started that dream by buying my first arcade game, Zaxxon. I restored it close to perfection, played it and kept dreaming of collecting more until I could open my own arcade one day. I was living in Southern California and in the later part of 1992 wildfires burned the entire area including my house and first arcade game. My wife, son and I evacuated and I spent years recovering. Well, in 2013, I finally decided to start on my dream again and bought my second arcade game. For the next 3 years I purchased and restored arcade games when finances would allow. In 2016 a partner and I had the opportunity to open Quarter Lounge Arcade and a dream was realized.

It was through this passion, dream, work and sweat that has made Quarter Lounge Arcade DFW's premier family friendly retro arcade located in the heart of the DFW Metroplex area. We have long time favorites like Pinball, Ms. Pacman, Galaga, Street Fighter II, Marvel vs Capcom & more. For a complete list of games we currently offer click here:  Available Arcade Games

If you are looking to play some fun, blow off some steam and play 80s and 90s arcade games, join a tournament, bring family or hang with friends then this is the place for you!

Since July of 2016 the arcade has thrived and provided an opportunity for thousands of young and old players to experience an authentic video game arcade like those form the 80s. Our story changes dramatically on March 18th 2020.

Arcades in Texas understandably had to close for 3 months when the covid-19 virus hit the United States and after we re-opened on June 19th, business has never been the same. In fact is has been slower than any of our previous 4 years. We have decided to close the arcade as of January 1st 2021 unless something changes between now and then which is why we are creating this fund raiser and letting everyone know how they can help if they can’t or do not want to donate.

The arcade is built on family values and has been all ages all hours we are open since our opening. We do not serve alcohol and decided to focus on the authentic retro arcade experience that was found throughout the United States in the 80s. This arcade is for everyone and we will benefit directly from this Go Fund Me to help us get through to next summer. We will used the funds for payroll, rent and continue to expand our game offering by restoring more games, redesigning the arcade layout to provide a safer environment, and run more tournaments, improve our safety protocols.

Our goal is to have the funds by January, 1 2020 and use the funds over the next 6 to 8 months. The fate of this family friendly neighborhood arcade is in the hands of you, past and present customers and the community in general. When we had to close down we did NOT ask for a hand out but instead developed a retro style game for the android platform call “Thief Quest” and asked a small $1 price for the download.

We are asking for your help now by doing 1 or more of the following 3 things.
• Donate to our Go Fund Me with an amount you are comfortable with.
• Visit the arcade regularly and introduce someone new to the arcade when you do if you are comfortable going out.
• Reserve a private event for you, your family or small group Monday, Tuesday or anytime we are not normally open for only $40 per hour (2 hour minimum) if you are not comfortable coming to the arcade when we are open to the public.

Our Commitment to You
• Improve our safety standards by changing the layout of the arcade to be more open and also incorporate more arcade games at the same time
• Update our business model as needed to continue to ensure the safety of all of our customers.
• Monitor and educate ourselves to the latest developments surrounding covid-19, best practices for a safe environment and state mandates regarding our occupancy.
• Continue to keep the arcade family friendly for all ages anytime we are open
• Focus on providing the best customer experience of any arcade while you are here.
• Develop and run fun, engaging and safe tournaments for you to enjoy.
• Make sure all machines are running well and in great condition
