Save Tiger: Medical Care Needed

Hello all, I wasn't sure about starting something like this, however the rescues seem to be quite full and are taking longer to respond than I hoped. I have an elderly man in my neighborhood that has a cat. He told me he he is concerned about the cat's well-being and there seems to be some concerning signs. Unfortunately the cat is very thin and has been pulling out his fur, a lot. The owner said he recently started to pee blood. I suspect this is hyperthyroidism and bladder stones. The cat is so extremely sweet and affectionate. Even though he is in pain the cat still wants to be pet and purrs and is very affectionate. As much as we love the cat we do not want him to suffer or die and so we thought surrendering him to a shelter would be the right choice, but so far each one has said they are full. I do not have the financials to to help and neither does the elderly man whose cat it is. The man said the cat is only about 4 years old and as a kitten he was a stray that snuck inside one day and the man thought "well I guess he can stay" and has never taken him to a vet before. If anyone could help us with the financial side I would be more than happy to take the cat to get vaccinations, get him medical treatment and medications, and even get him surgery for the bladder stones if needed. Depending on how this goes if you all help a lot I can even get the cat neutered which would probably help reduce reproductive issues. I live with my parents, but if I were able to get the cat treatment, then when I move out I would gladly take the cat in as my own. The elderly man named the cat Puss in Boots, but I call him Kitty. This is one of the most affectionate, outgoing, calmest cats I have ever met. He let me pick him up and rub his belly. Not one time did he hiss or growl or even try to get away. I know this cat is in pain and I really want to help him. Please help Kitty, if he makes it through this I'd like to rename him Tiger.

After calling multiple vet clinics it looks like for basic visit, testing, and medications it will most likely cost $600-$1,500 at least, I would like to get him vaccinated and neutered which will be another $300-$500, if Kitty has a bladder obstruction (life threatening) then that surgery would cost $3,000-$4,000.
