Our Little Pumpkin Needs a Miracle: Emergency Surgery Fundraiser
Our hearts are breaking. Just three weeks ago, sweet little 3-month-old Pumpkin brought sunshine back into our home. My youngest, Cerys (9), chose him herself—he was her reward for being the kind, hardworking kid she is, a dream she's held for years. He isn't just a puppy; he's the best thing to happen to our little family since we lost our beloved "Booger dog" two years ago. Pumpkin is loving, goofy, a little troublemaker who adores wrestling our cats, and he has already become a monumental part of our lives.
Now, we've been slammed with devastating news. For the past two days, we’ve been racing back and forth to the emergency vet. After exhausting tests, today we finally learned the scary truth: tiny Pumpkin has a life-threatening intestinal blockage and needed emergency surgery immediately.
I’ve already depleted everything, paying $2,000 just for the diagnostics and overnight care that led to this discovery. The surgeons quoted another staggering $6,000 to $8,000 for the procedure he is currently undergoing. As a single mom working full-time to raise three children alone, maintain a home, and try to keep us afloat, I am already deep in a financial hole. Every time we inch toward stability, something like this knocks us down again but I refuse to give up on him.
I am pleading for your help. I always said I’d never do one of these but here I am. I just desperately want my kids to have a happy ending with this incredible pup. He is everything to us. I can't put them through the trauma of another loss if I can possibly help it.
Every single dollar donated would be a lifeline, helping us climb out of this crushing debt. You can contribute here, or if you prefer to donate directly to the hospital, please call the Pet Emergency Center Skagit at 3608four85911 and mention Pumpkin under my name- he’s currently under 24/7 care. We don't know how long he will be fighting there, but every moment counts.
**EDIT**
Pumpkin is home but he's not out of the woods. He got his surgery, a complete section of his intestines removed, but is having major difficulty bouncing back. He is refusing food and water currently, so may need a trip back to vet ER.
