Please, if anyone is seeing this, I have a 3-year-old Frenchie. His name is Prince. On Tuesday, he woke up having a hard time walking and being self-independent. He started to cry and whine due to pain in his spine and back area. I took him to the vet where they said he had a dislocated disk in the spine.
French bulldogs commonly suffer from Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a condition where spinal discs degenerate, leading to pain, weakness, or paralysis. They are also prone to hemivertebrae, a congenital condition causing abnormally shaped vertebrae that can lead to spinal instability and deformities. Their genetic predisposition to these conditions is due to their chondrodystrophic (short-limbed) bodies, which puts more stress on their spines. They said to take him right to the emergency room. For these three years, he was full of energy, being playful, loving, and perfectly fine, to waking up like this . There was nothing I could have done to prevent this. My son, my family, and I are so devastated. He's on 4 different medications for pain and he's just resting. I went to the hospital where they wanted to do emergency surgery to save him from being 100% paralyzed, but I don't have much time. They estimated the surgery was between $10-15k, which had to be put down 90% before they proceeded. Not many of us have that kind of money laying around. They said he needs the surgery to save him and give him a good quality of life without any issues. It's a high percentage it will cure him, or we might have to put him to sleep, or if he's not in pain, put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. It's so sad that I can't find any place that will do the surgery and allow me to make payments, or I have not found a low-cost place willing to do the surgery. He's only 3; he is a baby and has a full life ahead of him ❤️. I hate to see him this way. I won't give up on him but won't allow him to suffer long in pain if this doesn't get better and improve. I am sobbing, hoping there's a miracle that somehow, some way, we can get this baby boy up and running around to be himself again. Please, if ANYONE can help him, anything counts. I am continuing to look around and make calls. If you know anything or know anyone that can help, please, please reach out to me. I'm at a loss for words . If I have to, I will surrender him to someone who can proceed with the surgery and pay to help him have the best life he can, and this would be my last resort if I cannot come up with the money to help him . Please, anything helps. I tried to get credit cards, but due to my fairly new brain surgery, my credit is not going to be accepted. I will not get accepted.
Can anyone help ????????
