Save Pope's Life with Your Kindness

My name is Kalen. On May 1st our family received devastating news - our beloved dog, Pope (aka Fat Man and Meanie Pants), who is 2 years old, has only a few months to live due to a severe heart condition calls Pulmonic stenosis. This condition restricts blood flow from his heart, and its already taken a heartbreaking toll on his energy and feisty and loveable spirit.

Pope used to be full of life, always excited for walks in the park and playtime with his brother and sister. But over the past month, everything changed. I took him to the vet when he started having trouble breathing. An X-ray revealed an enlarged hear, but we were told it was likely normal for his breed and were sent home with antibiotics. Sadly, his condition continued to worsen.

These days, Pope has no interest in walks, car rides, or playing - he just rests on the couch, exhausted. A specialist has since confirmed that he needs surgery to survive. We are waiting for additional information Thursday, May 8th (working with the docs at NC State). We are waiting on an estimated cost of surgery, but it will be a hefty (estimated cost of 15k - 20k). We've created this GoFundMe in hopes of raising the funds needed to give Pope a fighting chance and bring back the joyful pup we know and love.
