Help Try to Save Pogo’s Life
Donation protected
My mom’s horse, Pogo, was diagnosed with a rectal hematoma about a month ago. This put him at high risk of abdominal infection and he has been on heavy duty antibiotics for the last month as well as on a liquid diet to help him heal.
Unfortunately, as the scar tissue from the hematoma sloughed off, he now has a hole in his rectum and after weeks of being stable has developed a fever and infection.
He will need to stay in clinic for treatment and may potentially need surgery to close the hole.
My mom had Pogo insured but unfortunately, without her knowledge, her insurance company reduced his medical coverage from $5,000 to $2,500 and his bills are already well over what is covered.
Pogo is a much loved member of the family and herd and we want to do everything in our power to save him but finances are definitely a concern, especially with the “surprise” lack of insurance.
If you have the capacity to do so, we would much appreciate your help to alleviate some of Pogo’s medical costs so we can undertake life saving care and bring him home
