Save Pip's Patella

Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

Pip came into my life in early March after a chance encounter on a walk. I told her “caretaker” she was cute, and he replied, “Do you want her?” She was an underweight ragamuffin, and I could tell she deserved a better life, so I said yes.

Pip’s full backstory is a mystery, but early on it was clear she’d been neglected, possibly even abused. She was terrified—cowering and hiding under furniture. I wanted to help her feel safe and start over.

During her first vet visit, I mentioned that she limped. The vet diagnosed her with a medial luxating patella—a condition where the kneecap slips out of place. I couldn’t afford X-rays at the time, but I started searching for help: calling clinics, looking for low-cost programs, and trying to find someone who could give Pip the care she needed.

Eventually, I found a clinic that would perform her X-rays and surgery for $2,500, plus additional rehab costs—a huge relief, but still out of reach financially.

I know times are tough right now, and a dog’s surgery might not feel like a top priority. But if you can contribute, it will go directly toward helping Pip heal and run freely, as a dog should be able to do. Every bit helps, and I’m so grateful for your support.

If we’re fortunate enough to meet our goal, the extra funds will be donated to a local animal shelter to help other pets like Pip get the second chance they deserve.
