Covering surgery expenses for our Princess Pippa
Donation protected
My name is Adrian, and this is my dog Pippa, a 3 year old Golden Retriever Mix. We adopted her from a rescue passing December of 2024. She has had puppies, was rescued from a kill shelter from Korea, and has been moving from place to place since then up until we adopted her. She has been absolutely a wonderful addition to my family, a very quiet, warm and comforting dog who has some quirks like the way she politely sits with her paws crossed over.
Just recently we had to take her to an emergency vet, she had stopped eating and being the lovable princess that we know her to be. Some testing was done and the veterinarians deemed she needed surgery due to a mass located around her intestines. Complications occurred with her being anemic so a blood transfusion was needed along with a longer wait time until she was at a level safe for surgery to be performed. We have pet insurance but due to the time frame of when the policy was instated, we weren't able to get the procedure covered.
The cost of the visit and surgery were more than we anticipated and without insurance to be able to help with cost, it came down to a total of $7260. We couldn't bare to let Pippa's 2nd chance at life be taken so shortly and abruptly after adoption, but along with personal expenses and healthcare costs within our household, we are struggling to cover the expense for her. We were advised to start a GoFundMe to help with the cost and assist with the expenses. we will post the invoices and receipts of the payments for this. We did post the goal as $7500 in the case of possible complications during her recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, we just want the best for our little fur baby diva princess, anything helps and we hope to give her that 2nd chance at life. Shout out to Old Growth Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care, they helped Pippa so much and made her feel very comfortable.
