Save Pipi Youth Camp

It started over 60 years ago with a boy scout camping trip. Then one of those little boys grew up to become a pastor of a quaint little community church in the small rural town of West Point California. Over the years that little boy scout camp grew into a church camp for over 100 kids and about 35 adults.
Pipi camp began in Pipi Valley, a camping resort up Hwy 88 in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, hence the name. But in the early 80's the camp got too big for Pipi Valley, so they had to move to various other homes. "Cabbage Patch" "Forest Creek" and "Schaads Resort" just to name a few, but the name Pipi Youth Camp stuck.
When Reverend Jerry Meyers and his wife Venita purchased property in the mid 80's, they decided that they would make their property "Pipi Youth Camp's" permanent home. They have been using the same location for about 30 years now, located about 10 miles east of Pipi Valley.
Pipi Camp is sponsored by the "West Point Community Covenant Church" and every year they strive to break even. Thanks to financial commitments from church members, Pipi has been able to keep their fees low and affordable for children of the area. Pipi Youth Camp is committed to reaching out to high risk, low income children in their rural area to show them the love of God through song, worship, sermons but mostly through example and precept of the adult staff.
Thousands of children have come through that camp since the 50's and have testimonies to share of love and friendship and laughter and memories. Work on the property has always been done as a labor of love and volunteers from the church and other local churches gave willingly of their time. Outhouses, creek water, spring water, natural pond water these are words that are not foreign to Pipi Campers. There is no electricity save for a generator to run the water pump for the "conveyer belt turned waterslide" that Jerry Meyers created to the absolute delight of the campers. (It was named "The Ayden Garcia waterslide" in 2016 after the loss of Jerry Meyers' grandson)
This year, things are different. The county officials have visited with the current pastor of the West Point Community Covenant Church, Jeff Haight and have stepped in to inspect how things at camp are operating and running. They feel due to safety and rules and regulations Pipi Youth Camp needs to step into the 21st century and get proper water sourcing, as well as other improvements for their rudimentary kitchen set up.
Jeff, along with a team of hard working volunteers are happy to do much of the labor to cut costs, but there some purchases to be made, and some changes that need to be done by professionals.
The bottom line, we have the will and the way, we do not have the financial means. Below is a list of things that are needed ASAP so Pipi Youth Camp can continue to bless and change lives and spread the Love of our Lord and Savior.
Water Tanks - $1800
Pipes and Valves - $1500
Hydrant - $500
Roof for the kitchen - $2000
Stainless shelving and sinks - 1500
Leach lines - $6500
As you can see, the list is short but the financial need is large. Please help save Pipi Youth Camp! It has been running long and strong for over 60 years, there are many generations of people that have been touched in one way or another by the Holy Spirit that works through this camp, we want that blessing to continue for at least another 60 years.
