Help Save Piper’s Life – Urgent Surgery Needed
Donation protected
Dear community,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help.
Our Piper is currently in emergency care and can’t come home unless he undergoes urgent BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) and hernia correction surgery. This surgery is what Piper needs to come home and get his second chance at life.
48 hours ago, Piper came into our room acting strangely—he started vomiting and was struggling to breathe, so we rushed him to the emergency hospital.
He’s been on oxygen ever since. The first X-rays showed possible lumps and patches in his lungs, possibly cancer. Our hearts sank. But after further tests, a radiologist confirmed it was more likely aspirated pneumonia—still serious, but treatable.
The doctors now say he needs surgery urgently. His airways are too narrow for him to breathe on his own, and a possible hernia is adding pressure that’s making things worse.
The cost of preliminary checks, IV drips, ongoing oxygen, and surgery recovery is expected to reach up to $16,000 AUD. That doesn’t include the post-op stay, which could cost $1,000–$2,000 per day for several days. We’ve already spent $6,000 on scans and his initial care within 3 days, and we’re doing everything we can—but we can’t manage this alone.
We’re asking for $6,800 AUD to help cover the surgery and part of the recovery. Any donation or shares would mean the world and bring us one step closer to giving Piper the care he needs.
We will provide receipts and updates every step of the way.
Piper means everything to us. He’ll be five years old in July and still has so much life and adventures ahead of him. Just two months ago, he finally completed a long journey to join us here in Perth from Malaysia after two years apart. Now that he’s home, we want to make sure he gets to live it.
Please help give Piper his chance at life. Your kindness means the world to us.
With love and gratitude,
Oliver and Steph
