This is Pico. She is a beloved pet, a precious bearded dragon, and a TikTok star. Pico has brought smiles to millions of people around the world through her wholesome and educational TikTok videos.
Recently, Pico stopped eating her tasty bugs and veggies and her energy decreased. She has become very lethargic and doesn’t have that spunky lizard attitude we know and love. After a visit to the local exotic vet clinic, we found that Pico was in pre-ovulatory stasis.
Pre-ovulatory stasis is when the follicles on a female bearded dragon's ovaries become static rather then ovulating and developing into eggs. These follicles can become infected, causing the bearded dragon to become critically ill, if not removed.
Pico needs surgery to remove these follicles. Her treatment will include physical exams, sedation medication for the surgery, removal of the follicles, spaying, and hospitalization after her surgery.
Exotic Pet veterinary care can be extremely expensive. Between medications, the surgery, procedures, tests, supplies, doctor fees and hospitalization, Pico's surgery will cost around $3000.
How Your Donations Help:
Every. Bit. Helps. If these follicles are not removed, Pico's health will decline rapidly, and we may lose this precious animal. Because this was an unexpected expense, at a time when funds were already impacted due the current pandemic, we are turning to you for help. Please contribute what you can to help save our precious girl. Pico is such a sparkling ray of sunshine in not only our family, but hundreds of thousands of people's lives. Pico makes us happy. We would love to continue to share her joy with the world.
