Save Pickle: Support Her Hospitalization Costs

My one-year-old cat, Pickle, was recently hospitalized after showing severe signs of pain and drastic changes in behavior. Pickle has always been a very food-motivated cat with a very quirky personality, but this suddenly changed about a couple of weeks ago. She stopped moving from the bed, stopped playing with toys, and eventually stopped eating. She would sit still, visibly in pain, and not react to anything. I began to worry that there was something severely wrong with her and decided to take her to the vet. There, they discovered that she was severely dehydrated and that additional tests would be required. They ordered a blood panel and sent her home while we awaited the results.

Today, those results showed that she needed to be hospitalized immediately. Her white blood cells and kidney levels were heightened, indicating that she needed immediate IVs and additional testing, or else she would likely not make it. She was taken in this morning (7/22) to begin treatment and will likely stay until the end of this week or the beginning of the next.

However, this treatment is not cheap, especially not for a college student who had their FAFSA cut in half. The fees can range from $900 to $1600, depending on the duration of her stay. Additionally, I had already paid $390 for the original tests. I currently only receive about $1800 a month, which will become $1500 a month come school time, even with having a job. All that to say, I am worried about how I will pay for this procedure.

Pickle means everything to me. For some, she may just be a cat, but for me, she is my best friend. She is also the only cat that has gotten along with my senior kitty, Mamas. I don't want to see her suffer and will do everything in my power to help her, but any donation, no matter how small, will greatly help me continue my school life and provide adequate care for Pickle.
