Thanks for donating to Phoebe’s medical fund on my birthday. Birthdays celebrate life. Without her over the last seven years, I would have faced the pandemic and political upheaval in solitary confinement all by myself. She was my lifesaver.
Phoebe has a condition called “Cystic Endometrial Hyperplasia–Pyometra Complex.” It's similar to human endometriosis but involves painful wounds that become infected and start draining. It triggers a hormonal imbalance that produces pregnancy-like body changes.
There’s no cure. It is always eventually fatal. The only option is a complete hysterectomy. While she’s not in danger of becoming pregnant due to confinement, and I have never had her spayed, the procedure is the only option before she has another cycle.
The $2000 is for one pre-operation visit ($500), the actual procedure plus a possible overnight stay at the vet ($1000), and then the post-operation visit ($500).
I might be able to get lower charges, but this seems to be the mainstream cost here in the Boston area.
Thanks for helping save her life as a birthday present for me.
And please remember to send me your email and shipping address when you donate here, so I can mail you your thank you gift. This app won’t let me post my email address publicly, but it allows it in private messages after donating within the GoFundMe app.
I’m sending scarves out via priority mail USPS. If you would like to wait for the photos of your scarf choices before you donate, that’s fine. This fundraiser will stay up for a few weeks.
I will be creating two folders on Pinterest, one with simple scarves, and another with more complicated embellished pieces. I am also finishing up the last few designed “by request” pieces, but I’ll send those images of a few choices privately.
A warm scarf is like a hug on cold mornings and nights. Giving you a hug for helping to save Phoebe's life through fiber art is the least I can do.
Again, thanks so much!
