I first met Phil Vasile when we were both students at Northern Arizona University, our beloved NAU. He has ever been a person who wanted all those around him happy; so he is lovingly focused on making people laugh. It's been a minute since we graduated college, but through all life's ins and outs, ups and downs and what-have-yous, Phil continues to declare that he is "a lucky man". I adore this quality in my friend. Recent personal challenges however, both medical and financial, have left even our eternal optimist Phil on precarious and unfamiliar ground. He faces imminent danger of being evicted from his apartment, his home of many years. As recently as a few days ago, he left work soon after arrival to go to the Emergency Room because he didn't feel quite right... After being drained, poked, prodded and scanned, he was told he had been VERY close to taking a meeting with the Grim Reaper! Had he not gone to the ER, he likely would not have survived the night. He's back home now, being treated and working on a recovery plan with doctors, but it will be an intensely difficult uphill battle for his immediate future. So when he called me this evening unwilling to sing his usual refrain of "Lucky Man," I knew it was dire. We decided it is time to reach out. And so dear reader, though we know you're probably like most of us, and money can be funny... if you can please find it in your heart to help Phil keep his home, with any size contribution and as soon as possible, I can promise you he will be eternally grateful. I can probably convince him to call you up and regale you with silly anecdotes to make you laugh - or, if you give a larger sum - I'll convince him NOT to call. Just kidding... ;-) Really though, please help if you can. Phil is in no condition to navigate homelessness, and it's a hurdle we sincerely hope he will not need to face. Thank you for your time, consideration and generosity!
