Save Peter: A Stray Cat's Fight for Life
Donation protected
URGENT
NW Fort Lauderdale near Walgreens on Sunrise
I have lived in this neighborhood for 2 years where Peter has been a stray. When I first moved in he had no fur and was starving. My neighbor and I fed him and medicated him with edible flea medication that whole time until 6 months ago when my neighbor had a stroke and she asked me if I could take over. I have been feeding and flea medding this stray cat in my own backyard for 6+ months and he was missing since 6/28 when the last healthy pictures were taken that I posted to social media.
He found his way back to me yesterday, over a month later, starved and mangled. I believe he was used as bait for dog fighters by my neighbors and returned to the street by them now that he’s severely injured. I am already in contact with law enforcement regarding this and working to get these people apprehended. His jaw seems broken, missing teeth, a cut to his neck. He is eating, walking, and meowing at least so I believe there is hope for him.
Initially I did not want to start fundraising until I had him trapped but the situation continues to grow, people keep asking to donate, and I have found a drop trap so the next time I see him I will be trapping him and bringing him to Total Pet Care Animal Hospital ASAP. As soon as he is trapped and seen by a vet I will post the receipt with numbers on it.
If, God forbid, Peter is not found or trapped in time to get help for his injuries all donations will go directly to Lady Luck Animal Rescue, a rescue that I adopted my healthy kitten Charmin from 3 months ago, which I will provide a receipt for.
Please help me help Peter, he is a very submissive and sweet cat, he is bonded with another healthy white and gray stray named Cupcake who he protects. When I feed them together, Peter is a look out for Cupcake and refuses to eat any of his food until she has finished eating hers. She is not very nice to him but he still follows her, keeping an eye on her always. When one is around, you can be sure the other one is following close behind.
