Save Pete: Urgent Medical Funds Needed
Donation protected
Pete update: From the bottom of our hearts thank you for your donations! Pete’s symptoms are worsening. His tremors are more consistant and last night he fell down the stairs again. Thankfully we raised enough money to take him to the ER vet today. Unfortunately, the news isn’t good. His liver and lymph nodes are enlarged and his labs today are very abnormal. Everything points to cancer.
We used all the funds made so far on today’s visit (nearly 1k) and now he needs to see the oncologist. If you are able to please help us raise enough money to get Pete more help For now we have enough meds to keep him comfortable for a week. I’m praying we can get him to the oncologist by then . The funds will pay for more imaging, meds and cancer treatments. I have been updating on my Facebook page in stories if you’d like to follow our journey.
I really hate to beg for help but we are desperate. If you are able to, please donate.
If you would rather just cash app or venmo it’s $amandadengerd or @amandadengerd
Please help us save Pete, our 7-year-old Golden Retriever. Just a few weeks ago, he was his normal goofy self. Our big boy who loves his food, loves big hugs, and even more loves his humans. He was always happy, always begging for love, and always by our side. Today, he lays on the ground lifeless most of the day. Sometimes he will wag his tail when he sees us, and I know those are the moments he would normally run up and make us love on him.
Something is wrong, and the doctors can’t figure out what it is. He hasn’t eaten on his own in over a week, he has lost 15 lbs, and is completely lethargic.
It all started in January of this year. Pete got into old moldy chicken, started having seizures, and fell down our stairs. We took him to the ER vet, and they said it was toxic mycotoxin poisoning. We medicated and monitored him for a week, and he had no more issues that we noticed.
I don’t know if it’s related to what’s going on now, but now he’s dying. He hasn’t eaten on his own in over a week, and we can see him drifting away. He will drink water, but we have to syringe feed him puréed food. We took him to the vet again, and they said his labs were normal, but platelets were low. They did an ultrasound but couldn’t find anything. They think cancer. I can’t help but think there is some kind of damage from the poisoning. Either way, we are struggling financially, and vet bills are so expensive. Pete NEEDS to see a doctor again and probably needs to be hospitalized. Between labs, blood tests, imaging, and overnight stays, we cannot afford it on our own.
If you can, please help us help Pete. Even if it’s just a dollar, every penny helps. We really can’t do this without your help, and time is running out.
