Help Save Our Local Pet Shop in Santa Cruz

Our community is at risk of losing something truly special: Santa Cruz’s mom-and-pop reptile and fish store.

This family-run shop isn’t just a business—it’s the heart of our local reptile and aquatic community. They are the only true reptile experts in the area, offering education, care advice, and even fun and engaging reptile parties for kids and adults. For years, they’ve helped people learn about and responsibly care for reptiles, fish, and other animals.

But right now, they’re hurting. The Murray Street Bridge closure has caused a dramatic drop in foot traffic, making it harder for them to keep their doors open. Through no fault of their own, their livelihood—and our community’s access to their knowledge and care—is in danger.

If we lose them, we don’t just lose a pet shop—we lose a unique place of education, connection, and support for animal lovers of all ages.
