Paul M. Hipolito is 41 years old. He’s the kind of person who makes you feel safe just by being near. Gentle, kind, he listens with his whole heart and lifts everyone around him—not with noise but with soul.

Now, Paul is fighting for his life.

Paul was assaulted by a stranger and ended up with aphasia. While being treated for his traumatic brain injury, Paul received another devastating news. He has been diagnosed with Stage IV osteosarcoma—a rare and aggressive bone cancer. The tumor spans over 20 centimeters, invading his femur and pelvis and has already metastasized to his lungs. It is threatening to fracture his leg and hemorrhage and cause more irrevocable damage.

But there is still HOPE. The tumor may still be resectable, if we act quickly!

Why we need help right now.

Paul is indigent.

We are urgently seeking to get him to a cancer center that specializes in sarcoma, like UC San Diego Health or UC San Francisco, where specialists can perform limb-sparing surgery and coordinate aggressive chemotherapy. We are raising against time.

Funds are needed immediately to:

*Transport Paul safely to a facility willing to operate

* Cover urgent imaging, surgical consultation and out of pocket costs

*Secure housing, mobility support and post-op care

*Enroll him in clinical trials

As a family, we want to do everything we can to save this wonderful human being. Paul is our son, brother, cousin and uncle. Paul is facing these adversities with grace, humor and heart.
