Meet Castiel, AKA Papa, a sweet dog with a big heart who’s had a rough start to life. At just 2.5 years old, Papa’s journey began in the OC Shelter, where he was muzzled, kept in a kennel, and so aggressive that the staff considered euthanizing him. Thankfully, a rescue organization stepped in to save him, and we stepped in as fosters to get him settled back into a home environment.

Though Papa is a loving dog, his past traumas have left him reactive and in need of behavioral training. He struggles with some behavioral issues that make it hard for him to adjust to new environments. Recently, Papa was adopted by a family in San Diego, but it quickly became clear that he requires intensive training to ensure he’s given the chance to thrive. Without proper intervention, Papa could be sent back to a shelter, where he could face euthanasia.

This is Papa’s last chance.

We are raising $1,500 to get Papa into a life-changing 2-week board and train program with a skilled trainer named Yvette, who has already met with Papa and believes in his potential to become a wonderful companion. Yvette’s training will provide the structure and discipline Papa needs, but we need your help to make it happen.

After his training, we are also searching for a family who can continue his progress, someone with experience working with dogs that need structure and ongoing coaching. We hope to find an adopter who can commit to helping Papa build on his newly learned habits and give him the forever home he deserves.
