Save Pablo: A Neighborhood Treasure

Hi everyone,

I’m setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my neighbor Bill and his cat, Pablo.

If you’ve ever walked through our neighborhood, chances are you’ve met Pablo. He’s the kind of cat who makes you stop mid-conversation just to say hi. Whether he’s lounging on a warm sidewalk or trotting up to greet a passerby, Pablo has become a little local celebrity — a furry reminder of simple joy and community connection.

Yesterday, Pablo came home limping. His front right paw was swollen and he couldn’t put any pressure on it. We rushed him to the emergency vet today, and the news was tough: he’ll need X-rays, medication, and possibly more tests and treatment to get him back on all fours again. The cost is stacking up fast — and it’s more than Bill can afford right now.

Bill is Pablo’s human — though, if you ask anyone around here, Pablo chose him. Bill’s been going through a really rough time. He was hospitalized just a few months ago after a serious health scare, and he’s only just starting to get back on his feet. He’s a single dad with a 16-year-old son, and he’s doing everything he can to hold it together.

The thought of having to put Pablo down over money is heartbreaking — for Bill, for our neighborhood, and honestly, for me personally. Pablo is my unofficial outdoor cat. He’s turned grumpy old men into baby-talking softies. He brings people together. He matters here.

We’re asking for any help you can give — even $5 or $10 can make a huge difference. Every dollar goes toward Pablo’s vet bills, medication, and recovery. Let’s help get this sweet boy back on his paws, back to spreading joy like he always has.
